Safety Release Summer Intensive

The Safety Release Summer Intensive (SRSI) highlights the principles of Safety Release (SR), offering an intermediate/advanced approach to foundational contemporary dance praxis and movement methodology. SR is a somatic application to dancing that cultivates body awareness and skeletal knowledge, bringing focus to the spine, initiation of the joints, use of breath, and releasing frozen tension in the body to find deeper levels of movement efficiency and ease.

Hosted and facilitated by certified SR Master Teachers Marissa Finkelstein, Billy J. Hawkains III, Caitlyn Schrader, and kt williams, this five-day intensive is designed for dance educators, professional dancers, and college-level dance students (undergraduate and graduate) who are looking to deepen their practice and dive into core principles of SR technique.

Throughout the intensive, you will engage in personal investigations, share in rich dialogue, and partake in sessions in technique, theory, somatic practices, and more!

Registration deadline for those wishing to partake in the 5-day Intensive (either full or half days) have a final registration deadline of May 26th. 

*Drop-in registration is available now and continues throughout the week of the intensive. Drop-in registration is non-refundable.
